Inspiration, thy home is here!

A couple in their late thirties, doing what they see others around them doing - men working as farm laborers and women in MNREGA. A life of daily wages. But their life at home is different from most homes in that village of 250 homes. Raising three daughters and two sons, they try to build perseverance, hope, and hard-work in them. Even on the most difficult days, they ensure that kids go to the local government school, study at home, and are not pushed into daily wage work. It's not only the first generation getting education, it is the first generation building new dreams.

The oldest daughter, Praveena, with sheer hard work, completes the 12th grade at the local government school scoring the highest marks! A marksheet that reads pretty much everything in the 90s except english! Like many other girls, she fills the form for a remote-only college education. But underneath that ‘normalcy’, lies a dream. A dream to become a nurse!

In a turn of fortunate events, the tehsil of Raisinghnagar, where Praveena’s village Bajuwala is, recently opened its first nursing school. Given Praveen’s marks, amongst the highest in the area, she could easily get an admission. The bus going by her village, stops near the college. But there was one bridge that won’t go that far: financials.

And the family who stretched their arm to help are Pupul Goel and Anshul Gupta, PMP. Both Pupul and Anshul grew up in Haridwar, got to see life of rural and low income children through their travels in growing up years, and wanted to give back. While busy with their corporate careers in Dubai, their desire to see rural girls in India achieve their dreams made them commit to three years of Praveena’s education. With their generosity, they help not only dreams of Praveena but an entire family and an entire community!

We welcome your support to see another girl from Rural India achieve her dream! Write to us and expand Hamari Laado’s Giving Circle!
